About

Milwaukee native Nina Adel writes hybrid works based in creative nonfiction, fictionalized memoir and sometimes poetry, in addition to music. She is the coordinator and instructor of the Porch Writers’ Collective Creative Writing for Immigrants and Refugees Program. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Hamline University and an MA in English and Writing from Belmont University, as well as undergraduate studies at Berklee College of Music in Composition and Vocal Performance. Nina Adel recently won the Bellevue Literary Review’s 2020 Buckvar Prize for Nonfiction and has been published in Linden Avenue Literary JournalSweet Tree ReviewMoriaSelcouth StationThe TennesseanLouisiana Folklife Studies Journal, and New Sun Rising, among other publications, and is a Glimmer Train honorable mention recipient.

Language, land and the human condition occupy her time, thoughts and creative endeavors.

Nina has recorded and toured behind three albums of original music. She currently lives in the heart of Nashville alongside her two children and two dogs and teaches at Columbia State Community College.
